5 Warnings Your Career Is Off Track

By Tony Jacowski You may be breezing along in your current position, when suddenly trouble starts brewing and your career is knocked off-track. There are ample signals that warn you beforehand, if you pick them up. Most people who are either stuck in the wrong jobs or suffering a job loss are mostly there because they failed to recognize the signals before it was too late. To tell the truth, a good number of them later realize that the trouble they are in is of their own making. How do you know when your career is in trouble or at least off track? One needs to pay attention to certain signs. Here are 5 warning signals that will alert you. 5 Signals That Alert You When Your Career Is Off Track Warning # 1 Sudden depression and economic downturn. Although a rarity, economic downturns can be a strong signal for you, especially when you are in such industries as telecommunications, travel, hospitality, etc. Although the economy affects other sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, etc. equally, mass layoffs are limited unlike in other sectors. The reason is clear; consumers shun the market at times of trouble, which they cant do with same vigor with the latter sectors, which fulfill customer needs. This was seen during the depression of the 1920s, post lunar exploration of 1964, and recently after 9/11 fallout. Warning # 2 Your industry is passing through a lull. The best example that fits here is that of telecommunications and software engineering following the 9/11 fallout. First, WorldComs fortunes dwindled and the company went into a total tizzy. A few top executives were not available while the situation went from bad to worse. Whatever the reason could be, the industry as a whole suffered instead of gaining from the loss of one big player by default. Job losses were to the tune of tens of thousands. Those who saw the signs and sensed what was coming very early took advantage of whatever opportunities they could. Warning # 3 The companys finances are dwindling. Although not everyone is directly connected to finance management, it inadvertently affects everyone. Bad management, lost or declining sales and poor quality of service are a few things that result in a financial emergency. This state of affairs, albeit slow, should not be missed. Important signals like a sudden drop in workload, a blanket application of cost cutting measures, sudden concern over petty costs and firing of sales managers see alert employees chalking out their future steps. Warning # 4 Mergers and acquisitions are no less dreadful as far as employees are concerned. When two corporations merge, management looks forward to consolidate the benefits by downsizing any overlapping resources. Intelligently, employees must look for signals like changes in the top executives, big promises by management, rhetoric on upholding shareholder values, etc. The effects of this spread quickly. Warning # 5 Other signals like ignoring you for activities (meetings etc) that previously required your attendance, a sudden increase in work pressure, ignoring your suggestions & job performance and dampened appreciation for your accomplishments show that you have fallen out of your bosses (or at least the companys) favor. Your salary increments and bonuses become pale shadows of their former selves. Once you sense the signals, you need to pay attention to them instead of just brushing them aside. Start planning you next steps immediately to avoid being caught off-guard. The company is doing what is right for them. Protect your career and do what is right for you. New Tips For Shopping Cellular Services

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Aaron_Siegel]Aaron Siegel The best money saving practice for buying new cellular phones and service plans is to buy from a dealer, not through the cellular provider directly. Dealers compete against each other with lower prices than the actual cellular providers do. The reason for this is that dealers are much smaller and rely solely on cell phone revenues. The actual cellular providers themselves have many other fronts, battles, and sources of revenue, so price satisfaction in any one sector is not always available. For Example: AT&T or Verizon has cellular, but also have local phone service, long distance, satellite, and so forth. A dealer only sells cellular; thats it. Dealers usually will offer just about every existing cellular providers services so the convenience of one stop shopping is an additional feature. Online dealers are the most convenient source for shopping and comparing plans. You can shop low dealer priced plans from online and save even more. A great and smart idea, before you buy into any cellular service plan, is to have a friend or family member let you borrow their phone(s) for a day at the least. By doing this you can travel to all of your frequent hotspots to make sure you will receive decent signaling with that cellular provider on a regular basis. Just taking someones word for it is not good enough, especially if they are trying to sell you the service. Try a test drive; its your smartest bet. Remember, purchasing the best plan will be worthless if you can never use your phone. Coverage is the first factor to any cellular plan period. If you have friends with a diverse set of cellular providers, try each one out to determine which one is most reliable for your daily activities. Take your friends feedback as well; they will be very helpful on subjects of billing, quality of service, and other important consumer information. Wedding Gifts That Make A Statement

By L Hayes When it comes to wedding gifts, a good rule of thumb is, never give something you wouldn’t also love to receive. Certain items would be welcome in virtually any home, whatever the decor. Here’s a partial list: l. A great lamp. Statistically, eight out of ten US homes are under supplied with lamps. Your very welcome gift could be an affordable table lamp from Ikea that is midnight blue, or black or maroon from the top of its shade to the base of its bottom; or an artsy Tizio lamp, that leggy metal elbow light that is right in any kind of room; or an adjustable apothecary-style floor lamp that can stand quietly beside or behind a chair or sofa, giving perfect reading light. There is lots of room for personal expression in this category and your wedding gift will enjoy some serious longevity. 2. A framed mirror. Based on your knowledge of the couple, you might choose a sleek, classic gilt frame with minimal detailing, or an ornate Rococo frame. The new-age color of preference for weddings is silver or pewter. For lovers of country, go with an antique pine window frame mirror. The point is, this is a piece that can be hung in any room of a new house - from the foyer to the dining room to bedrooms to a hallway. 3. A wonderful vase. Pay attention to the shape of vases because it controls whether flowers will stand tall or droop gracefully. A wedding gift vase will be brought out hundreds of times over the years, usually on other happy or celebratory occasions. 4. A coat tree. There are many wonderful antique hall trees to be found, as well as contemporary pieces. These useful wedding gifts can be used to hold towels in a good-sized bathroom, or coats in a closet-less hall. They are also versatile enough to be used for belts, scarves or ties in the bedroom. You really can’t go wrong. 5. Small tables or benches. For inspiration here, look in a catalogue or store. There’s hardly a home that couldn’t do with a graceful demilune table or console. Again, it’s a piece that can travel from dining room to foyer to a bedroom, or even to the bath. If you’re not sure about the mahogany finish, choose a more neutral glass and iron table, or a painted country look. An upholstered bench makes a great front hall piece (paired with the leggy console), or can stand at the foot of the bed, at the dressing table vanity, or in an awkward corner of a living room. If you’re not sure about the fabric, give it with plain muslin. Why not fill a case with a variety of fabulous wines and present it with a pair of glasses or candlesticks? Give an artsy CD storage unit, or a boom box to listen to while painting your room. Other wedding gift ideas include: funky bar stools for a kitchen island; a series of rectangular storage baskets with leather handles; a gorgeous silk ‘tree’ or folding screen for a bare corner - you get the idea. Finally, do a little research, ask a few questions, and then go make a statement. The newlyweds will appreciate your thoughtfulness for years to come. Effortless Way To Finance - Online Secured Personal Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Thompson]Amanda Thompson Online secured personal loans can be availed by placing collateral against the loan amount. Collateral can be house, car, automobile, real estate or any thing of value. Being a personal loan it is used to satisfy any personal desire that is from purchasing a home to purchasing a car, from paying the debts to wedding and holidaying etc. An online secured personal loan doesnt take into account the credit score of the person while providing the loan. However, credit score carries importance while determining various aspects of the online secured personal loan. An amount which can be borrowed in online secured personal loans varies from person to person. But, usually the amount ranges from ₤5000 to ₤75000. And, they are generally repaid between 5 years to 25 years. The person must always keep in his mind that there must be all timely repayments. Because, if the person fails to do so then his asset placed as collateral can be on risk. Along that he will be tagged with bad credit which will emerge as hurdle while procuring funds from the financial market in future. When the person plans to apply for online secured personal loan, firstly he is needed to fill an online application which generally asks for certain details. After that the person asks for the loan quote from the lender. Loan quote will give a rough estimation of the total cost involved in the loan deal. It also helps in making comparison between various offers of online secured personal loan. And comparison will enable him to choose the most competitive deal. The benefits of applying secured personal loan through online mode are as follows: Reduce paper work Low interest rate is offered Saves time, effort and money No processing fees Faster response to the loan application Locating and comparison between lenders is easier with online It will be absolutely right to say that online mode of applying secured personal loans simplifies the task of applying. But, the person should not forget to read all the terms and conditions of the online secured personal loan because a single unfavorable term can create difficulty in easy repayments. Free Unicel Ringtones

By Thomas Morva In less than twenty years, mobile phones have gone from being rare and expensive pieces of equipment to affordable and widely used devices. It is not uncommon for an adult or a child to own a personal mobile phone. In fact, they are increasingly preferred over landline phones. A mobile culture has evolved since the penetration of the modern technology of mobile phones. People greatly rely on their mobile phones to communicate and stay in touch with friends and relatives. The address book feature included in most cell phones helps people get in touch or send SMS text messages. Many phones even offer Instant Messenger services to increase the simplicity and ease of texting on phones. Many mobile phones not only have features like sending text messages and making voice calls it also include Internet browsing, music (MP3) playback, personal organizers, e-mail, built-in cameras and camcorders, ringtones, games, radio, Push-to-Talk (PTT), infrared and Bluetooth connectivity, call registers, and ability to watch streaming video or download videos for later viewing. According to statistics, commercial ringtones exceeded $2.5 billion in revenue just two years ago. Ringtones are extremely popular, and people do not mind spending money to download the latest ringtones. Everyone loves the sound of music, and ringtones are a way to incorporate music into the basic technology of cell phones. This is why the ringtone business is in such great demand today. Ringtone companies get the necessary rights from music companies and upload the latest tunes on their servers so they can be downloaded to users mobile phones. You can take advantage of the latest ringtones free of cost from the Web site of the service provider that you have subscribed to. Unicel is one of the mobile phone service providers that has a large number of customers in the U.S. Unicel subscribers can log on to the companys Web site and freely download the exciting ringtones. Constant Communication Is The Key To Survive A Long Distance Relationship

By Anne Sy No matter the distance, effective communication is essential to survive a long distance relationship. My husband and I were apart for four years before we finally got married and live together. It was the most difficult four years of my life, living each day, wishing that one day we can just be together in the same place, at the same time zone. He was in the US, I was in the Philippines. He was saying good night to me while I was just starting my day at the office. We exchanged stories of our day through Yahoo Messenger. We woke up each other through text messages. Wherever we go, we have our cellular phone with us. on weekends, we talked through prepaid calling cards. It was really hard. Long distance relationships entail committed effort from both parties. One cannot measure who gives more effort or more time. What is important is that both of you have the same goal: to make the long distance relationship last, no matter what. Here are some tips that that I would like to share with you: 1. Never let a day pass without keeping in touch Even if you dont see each other, through constant communication, you can tell each other the things that you did, youre doing or plan to do. Youre not obliged to tell every single thing that you do, but both of you will feel you just want to share anything even just though words. 2. Trust each other You will hear your friends and relative tease you to just find someone else. Long distance relationships dont work. You would not know if your partner is really honest with you. How do you know if he/she does not cheat on you? How do you know if he/she tells you everything? Well, you would not really know for sure because you dont see each other. Thats why you simply trust each other. If you have constant communication, you would not have any other time for other things. Believe me. After work, I spent hours in the computer for emails and instant messaging. At times, I went out with my friends, but my fingers are on my cellular phone for never-ending text messages. On weekends, 30 minutes for phone and three hours for the computer. Doubts should never ever have a place in your mind, otherwise, youll just spend hours and hours investigating each other. 3. Explore different communication options Constant communication is your tool to survive LDR. Its expensive but you can save a lot if you just look around and see what options you have. Today, you have so many choices if not free, at least, you can still save a lot. Free Instant Messaging/PC phone calls Download Yahoo messenger, Skype, MSN Messenger, ICQ, AOL and a lot more. Plus, you can plug-in a web cam and talk virtually face-to-face. Prepaid calling cards / unlimited international calling plans Save on your long distance calls by using prepaid calling cards with cheap rates. You can call each other with just one push of a button through speed dialing which is now offered by online prepaid calling cards stores like www.callingmart.com. No more PIN and phone number to dial. This is convenient for you especially when youre on the road. Most calling cards providers also offer auto-recharging and balance transfer to another phone card if you wish to try another calling card with different call charges. Keeping a long-distance relationship is definitely not easy but with constant communication, you will surely make it. Hair Removal: Which Method Is Best?

By Ron King If you’re bothered by unsightly hair, you’ll find many hair removal methods available. Your task is to select the right one. Before making a decision, you’ll need to (a) research the treatment options available, and (b) answer a few questions about yourself. Which Area Do You Want To Treat? The area of the body you want hair-free will determine the method of hair removal you select. Is the unwanted hair on your face or elsewhere? You’ll need to narrow it down even more. Do you want hair removed from your arms, legs, eyebrows, back, chest, pubic area, knuckles or where? When you’re clear about which precise area of the body you want to focus on, next you’ll need to determine whether your hair problem is hereditary. Some people are simply more prone to growing darker, coarser hair. If that’s in your genetic makeup, no amount of treatment is going to completely solve your situation. You will have to settle for improvement rather than cure. How Much Can You Afford To Spend? The next step is to determine your budget. It’s important to be clear on the available money, because that will eliminate some methods. Also, be aware that most methods will require multiple treatments at various intervals. Costs for hair removal treatments can range from a few dollars a month to several thousand dollars per treatment. On average 5 or more treatments are required to do the job. Your goal is to face up to whether you can afford it, and, if so, whether it will be the best use of your money. How Much Pain Can You Tolerate? The next cut on which method to choose is to assess your level of pain tolerance. Seriously. Your selection of hair removal methods will depend in part on how much pain you can handle. A number of hair removal methods are uncomfortable to painful. Although the pain is temporary, only you can judge your ability to tolerate it. Waxing and electrolysis are considered the most painful, so if you can’t tolerate pain, these methods will not do. Hair Removal: Temporary Or Permanent? You still have 1 more decision to make: do you want a permanent or a temporary hair removal method? Be aware that most methods are, unfortunately, temporary. To permanently stop hair growth you must damage the hair germination structure within the hair follicle. To date, electrolysis is the only method that has been proven to achieve this goal. Laser therapy comes close, but more experimentation is needed for conclusive proof. These 2 semi-permanent methods are the most expensive of all the options, so your budget may make this decision for you. A temporary method may be your only option. Last, but certainly not least, it’s very important that you make sure you’re undergoing the hair removal process because you want to. It’s not wise to let somebody else pressure you into this. Medical Tourism in Europe

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sarah_Freeland] Sarah Freeland Over the past two decades, Eastern Europe has emerged as a significant and popular destination for health tourism. Its well-established medical infrastructure built around prominent research hospitals, as well as its proximity, first encouraged West Europeans to consider dental treatments and cosmetic surgery vacations in the East. Shortly afterward, Americans began to follow. Specialized travel agencies offered dental treatments, without the high cost and bureaucratic procedures that their own national health service entails. Prices were so much lower that clients from the UK would fly out, undergo their dental treatment, spend some time sight-seeing, and then return home. Dr. Bela Batorf of the British Hungarian Medical Association told the BBC: “our prices are a third or less than English prices. Of her trip to Budapest, Sue Smities said, “The only thing we had to pay for was the flight and overnight accommodation. The consultation, x-ray, and CT scan were all free. West Europeans traveled to Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland for spa treatments as well as biomedical interventions. Both Budapest and Prague offer thermal springs and spa facilities, with treatments such as hydrotherapy and water massage, as well as aesthetic surgeries. The same factors that make healthcare in East Europe so appealing to patients, make a short vacation to recuperate from their surgery seem a good idea as well. The national airlines of East European countries offer competitive airfares. Patients find a short stay enjoying Budapest, Prague, or Warsaw a good value, as they enjoy these cities many attractions. Tips on How to Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary This Year

By Rose Ida Taharim Marriage is wonderful and a bit complicated. It is a serious commitment between two individuals. That commitment should be remembered no matter how long you have been together for a long time. It is a promise that the couple made in front of witnesses, not just on the wedding day but for the days and years beyond. It is a commitment that makes two people willing to grow old together no matter what the circumstances. Being married is not that easy. The sweet, rough, pain and happy moment that you both have been through together and your marriage bond still going strong from year to year is something for both of you to be proud of. And this year, do something different to celebrate your wedding anniversary from the previous year. Go for vacation It such a long time you both have never gone for a vacation. Take a break. Apply for a weeks leave. Sit down together and discuss where to go. But, please, no fighting over the decision of the place to go. Think of a place that you both like to go. List down of all the places in a piece of paper and dont forget about the budget. Going for a vacation is not meant to be broke after coming back from the vacation. The kids? What about the kids? There are two solutions. Whether you leave them behind with someone you trust, such as your parents or your in-laws or you take them along. But, beware. You both might be very tired after the vacation with the kids. Do fun activities together Is there an activity that you both love doing it together but dont have the time? Activity such as, cycling, hiking, camping, riding on a hot air balloon, boating, riding horses or even going to movie together. If yes, this is the time. Take a leave and off you go, please. You will realize there is so much of missing moments between both of you. Dine out or specially cook If you both cant take leave, celebrate it romantically with candle light dinner either at your favorite restaurant or at home. If you are to celebrate at home, cook something special. Talking about cooking something special, wife do you still remember what was your 1st cooking after you got married? An over cooked meal with a burned fish? Perhaps you can still cook the dish but give it a slight better cooking this time. Ask your husband, Do you still remember my 1st cooking for you? Lets hear his answer then. The situation might also be vice versa, where the husband was the one who cooked 1st time after got married. If you choose to have outside dinner, I would suggest that you both go to the first dining restaurant that you went for your dating last time. It will bring back nostalgia to both of you. Drop a special note On the day of the anniversary, husband, leave a note on the dressing table or on the bath room mirror or stick it at the refrigerator before you go to work. A simple note saying that, Honey, I love you. Thanks for being me after all these years. Well, you can compose a better love notes than I am. If you find hard to compose one, get a book on love notes from amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com. Or, take a lyric from a love song that you both enjoy listening. Traditional gifts Husband, if you are planning to give a traditional gift for your wife such as flowers, please put an add-on to it. You can combine flowers with chocolate; flowers with keepsake box; flowers with ticket to movie show; flowers with aromatherapy massage oil or flowers with jewelry. Wife, if you are planning to give a gift for your husband, perhaps you can get him a set of toiletries of his favorite designer fragrances, a new shirt with his favorite color, tickets to his favorite sports event or gifts that are related to his hobby. Not another socks, ties, undergarment please. Seeds of Love Husband/wife, your spouse enjoys gardening. Choose few packets of vegetables seeds or flower seeds of her/his favorite selection and wrap it in a pot where the plant going to be plant. Write down a note saying that Lets plant together our Seeds of Love and let our love grow each minute, each day, each week, each month and years. (Our note is just an example. You can compose a better one that ours.) And, do plant the seeds together. Choose a special moment for both of you to plant it. Create Do You Still Remember This Moment? Scrapbook Do you have a memorable photo apart from your wedding photo? A long time vacation photo, a birthday photo, any photo which the event was a memorable one. Pick as much photos as you can and start doing your Do You Still Remember This Moment? scrapbook. With this type of creative memory scrapbooks, memories come back to life when the books are viewed. Pictures make more sense as they are paired with words or laid out in an organized fashion. Reliving moments preserved in the scrapbooks could be a good way to keep family ties and strengthen bonds. Additionally, well kept books could serve as heirlooms that would keep a familys legacy throughout the coming generations. The renewal of vows The renewal of vows is a ceremony where a couple relives their commitment and vows to reaffirm their love and devotion to one another. The couple can set a date that will coincide with the date they celebrated their original wedding. Many couples prefer to renew their vows on the exact date of the 10th, 20th, 25th, or 50th anniversary of their wedding. These are significant dates that they cherish, despite the trials in life as married couples. It is also important and significant to many couples who wish to celebrate their marriage with their families and friends. This celebration is very significant to many couples because they would once again affirm their commitment be unified with love. Time is a luxury that people do not have. There are things that are beyond the control of people that are unforeseen which happen in the blink of an eye. The best thing to do is spend quality time together no matter how short or long, making each other feel loved and special at all times, even though if it is not yet your anniversary day to celebrate.
